Biostatistics studies will start from this session in Patna Women's College latest news update 2024
Latest Updated 12/02/2024: Biostatistics will be taught in Patna Women's College from this session. It will be included as an add on certificate course from the Department of Statistics. Those who are interested in biology, mathematics and statistics. If there is a desire to do something different in the field of Biology, then they can enroll in it.
In this, the use of statistics in collecting biological data will be explained. After completing this credit based certificate course of 30 hours i.e. one month, the girl students will be given a certificate from the department. Completion of the course will add three credits to the final result. One credit is set at 10 hours.

Girl students can take admission in any Honors program: There is no compulsion of Honors subject. Girl students taking enrollment in any undergraduate program in session 2024 can enroll in it. Girl students of first semester will get admission in add on course.
Benefits of add on course: The biggest advantage of add on course is that girl students get a chance to gain knowledge on subjects other than their core subjects as well.
It is also a better option for girl students. In future, girl students can also start their own business with this.
What is the course, where will students get opportunities?
The branch of statistics that collects data related to living organisms. Biological or health data are collected and analyzed using statistical methods. Biostatistics is also used to find possible causes of cancer. Primary data is also prepared. There are opportunities for biostatistical programmers, SAS programmers, consultants, and research assistants in hospitals and research departments, among other fields.
LED bulb production unit established in college
A production unit for the production of LED bulbs was established in the college on Saturday under the 'Inaya' startup. Due to the efforts of Principal Dr Sister M Rashmi, a startup has been started for the first time in the college. Till now the girl students were preparing bulb samples in the department itself. Now, along with providing a large number of raw materials, the setup has also been made available.
The unit has punching machine, fitting machine, solder, cutter, heat sink compound and other materials.
Dr. Ravi Kumar has been made in-charge of the Mathematics Department.
