PhD students in the Jharkhand will get 25000 rupees every month latest news update 2024
Latest Updated 13/01/2024: The state government has come up with CM Fellowship Scheme for the academic excellence of the students of Jharkhand. Under this, there is a plan to promote research in government or non-government universities of Jharkhand. Under the CM Fellowship Scheme, UGC NET/CSIR NET qualified students doing PhD will be given Rs 25,000 per month and Jharkhand Eligibility Test passed students will be given Rs 22500 per month for four years. A total of 1000 students will benefit from this scheme every year.

Also, tuition assistance of 1500 rupees per month will be given at polytechnic, diploma & graduation level and 2000 rupees per month at postgraduate level for a maximum period of one semester. Along with this, 2 more new schemes were announced by Rahul Purwar, Principal Secretary, Higher & Technical Education Department. Purwar said that travel grant will be provide for paper presentation in national or foreign universities.
- Guruji Student Credit Scheme will be available from the new session
Purwar said that under the Guruji Student Credit Scheme, students can get loans up to Rs 15 lakh at a concessional rate of 4 per cent per annum simple interest for pursuing education in top 100 or top 200 overall category or NAAC A or higher recognized educational institutions. Education loan will be provided. He said that students will start getting the benefits of this scheme from the next session. There is a plan to provide loans worth Rs 500 crore to more than two thousand students for higher education. He informed that the benefits of Guruji Student Credit Scheme will start available from the new session.
Jharkhand government is bringing Model University Act
The Principal Secretary said that Model University Act (Jharkhand Private Universities Bill) has been drafted to ensure & monitor quality teaching in private universities in the Jharkhand. All universities will have to the comply with these standards. Complaints regarding the private universities will be resolved.
