Health University will take attendance of students of medical colleges of Bihar latest news update 2024
Latest Updated 10/01/2024: Bihar Health University will now take the attendance report of the students of all the medical colleges of the state. It is starting from January. Medical colleges have to send the student attendance report every month by the 5th of the next month. The university administration will identify the students who bunk classes and complain to their parents.
The university has set a target that students should have minimum 85 percent attendance in all medical colleges. Bihar Health University has sent a letter to the principals of all government and non-government medical colleges regarding sending the attendance report. The university administration has told the principals of medical colleges that students will be allowed to appear in the examination only on the basis of their class attendance statement. All the department heads and students of the institute have been asked to immediately inform about this. The National Medical Council (NMC) has a provision that if the attendance in the class is less than 75 percent, the student concerned will not be given a chance to appear in the examination. The university administration is planning to encourage students who have more than 95 percent attendance in classes. In the meeting of the University Senate, the Chancellor and CM Nitish Kumar had asked the University to monitor studies in colleges in a better manner. He was also asked to check the arrangements for the medical students studying in the Medical College Hospital and the treatment arrangements for the patients coming here. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the university administration has sought class-wise report of each medical college student.
Students have been asked to submit separate reports of their attendance in different subjects and practical rooms. There are 2020 seats in MBBS course in the 16 medical colleges of Bihar including PMCH. There are 200 seats in PMCM. Homeopathy and Ayurveda colleges are attached to Bihar Health University.
