Latest Updated 05/11/2023: Five first year MBBS students were ragged by senior students in the hostel of Government Medical College, Haldwani. On receiving the information, the Principal immediately arrived and reprimanded the senior students and immediately called a meeting of the disciplinary committee. The committee meeting was held on Saturday after it was agreed to send the matter to the Anti Ragging Committee. In this, it was decided to impose a fine of Rs 25,000 each on the accused 10 MBBS second year students and expel them from the hostel for six months. The parents of the accused students have been called.
Five senior were ragging from MBBS first year students
According to the information, last Friday at around 2.30 pm, MBBS second year students called five first year students to their hostel in the Medical College campus. It is alleged that senior students started ragging the juniors. Many seniors together started ragging him. Meanwhile, an employee of the medical college itself made a video of the entire incident and informed Principal Dr. Arun Joshi. The Principal said that ragging will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If students do not improve their behavior in future, they may also be debarred from appearing for the examination.
