Latest Updated 05/11/2023: In the division bench of Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen, a petition was heard challenging the amended Rules of Jharkhand Medical Education Service Rules - 2018 - 2021 regarding the appointment of assistant professor in the medical college. The division bench stayed the press release issued by JPSC.


JPSC had issued a press release, in which online applications for these posts were invited only from the medical officers working in Jharkhand Health Services. The candidate said that the press release of JPSC has been released in the middle of the recruitment process. During the hearing of the case, the High Court banned this press release of GPSC. The court has directed that if the applicant fulfills all the qualifications of the advertisement.

And if he qualifies, he should be considered for appointment. The court has sought a reply from the state government and JPSC in the matter within six weeks. The next hearing of the case will be on 9 January. This petition has been filed on behalf of Manish Kumar Munda and others. JPSC had issued advertisement for 110 posts of Assistant Professor in Medical Colleges.


The applicant had said in the petition that in the advertisement it has been said to give priority in appointment to the medical officer working in Jharkhand Health Service. Citing the amended Rules 2021, the candidate said that this rule is against Article 16 of the Constitution.
