Latest Updated 28/10/2023: The Supreme Court will hear the matter of including NIOS D.El.Ed in basic teacher recruitment on 31 October. This case is going on against the order of the High Court to consider NIOS D.El.Ed as eligible for basic teacher recruitment.

Due to this matter, the recruitment of basic teachers in the state has been halted. Out of 2600 posts, only 1800 have been recruited so far. Basic Education Director Ramakrishna Uniyal says that further action will be taken in the recruitment process as per the court order.
