Decision on increase in pension of coal workers in November latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 13/10/2023: The petition regarding increase in pension of retired coal workers was heard in the Delhi High Court on Thursday. The court is expected to decide on this matter in November 2023. Coal Pensioners Association President Ramanuj Prasad said that the petition for pension increase was filed in the Supreme Court in the month of January 2015.
Decision on pension increase will be taken on 28 November 2023
Later the Supreme Court transferred the case to Delhi High Court. The hearing was held in Delhi High Court on Thursday. Ramanuj Prasad said that the court agrees to the demands of pension increase. The decision will come on 28 November 2023.

Ramanuj Prasad said that ever since the petition was filed, more than 75 thousand pensioners have died.
It is known that after its implementation, coal pension has not been reviewed till now. Pensioners Association has an old demand that the pension of coal workers should be reviewed. There is a provision for review of pension every three years. Even after repeatedly raising the issue, when the pension was not increased, a case was filed in the Supreme Court in 2015.
