Breaking News: Dearness allowance of UPCL contract workers of Uttarakhand increased
Latest Updated 27/10/2023: Dearness allowance of more than three thousand self-help group employees of UPCL has been increased. After the order of the Labor Department, the Energy Corporation has also given orders to give the benefit of increased allowance. Now employees will be paid VDA of Rs 1700 every month instead of Rs 1560. An increase of Rs 140 has been made.
UPCL has more than four thousand SHG employees. For these, dearness allowance is determined by the Labor Department every six months. This time dearness allowance has been fixed for October 2023 to 31 March 2024. Now contractual employees will be paid Rs 1700 as dearness allowance every month. An order to increase dearness allowance was issued by Executive Director Human Resources RJ Malik. In UPCL, only SHG workers get the benefit of dearness allowance. This benefit is not given to Upanal workers. Recently, Energy Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram had issued an order to give the benefit of dearness allowance to Upanal workers also. This order was postponed after the objection of the Finance Department. Electricity Contract Employees Organization has demanded to give the benefit of dearness allowance to everyone.
Upanal employees should be paid on time
Executive Director Human Resources RJ Malik instructed all the Chief Engineers to make all the payments to the sewerage workers in their respective zones on time. Said that even from the government level, displeasure is being expressed over the delay in payment. Objection has been lodged on behalf of Upanal.
