Breaking News: 24 people sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in cartridge scam in UP
Latest Updated 14/10/2023: The court on Friday sentenced the culprits of the 13-year-old famous cartridge scam of Uttar Pradesh to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 each. These include 20 CRPF, UP Police and PAC personnel as well as four civilians.
- A fine of Rs 10,000 each was also imposed on the culprits.

The famous cartridge scam of UP was exposed by STF Lucknow on 29 April 2010. The STF team had arrested retired PAC Inspector Yashodhanandan, the main accused in the scam, near Jwalanagar railway crossing. Two CRPF jawans Vinod were also caught along with him. STF had recovered Rs 1.76 lakh and two and a half quintals of spent cartridges, magazines and weapon parts from the possession of the three. In this case, a case was registered on the complaint of STF Inspector Amod Kumar Singh.
