Coal India raises questions on revised PPO in Dhanbad latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 06/09/2023: Many questions have been raised by Coal India on the revised PPO (Pension Pay Order) issued by the Coal Mines Provident Fund Institute. Coal India Director Personnel Binay Ranjan has written a letter to CMPFO Commissioner VK Mishra requesting that it is not possible to immediately provide the information sought from the coal companies about the pensioners under the revised PPO.

Referring to the difficulty in collecting such data, the Director Personnel of Coal India has raised many questions. It may be noted that the purpose of the revised PPO is to continue regular pension to the wife in case of death of the pensioner.
On behalf of Coal India, CMPF Commissioner has been advised that at the time of submission of Live Certificate in November, information related to PPO can be sought from pensioners by amending the application related to Live Certificate. At present, gathering such information can create a situation of chaos. Such records are not already available with the coal companies. There is no arrangement to contact the pensioners. After retirement, pensioners have gone to their far away villages, homes or cities. From there the pension is paid from one bank or the other.
