Latest Updated 03/09/2023: Universities will not mention the Aadhaar number of any student on his degree and provisional certificates. UGC has released instructions in this regard to all universities & higher education institutions.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has told all universities that publishing Aadhaar numbers on degree and provisional certificates is not allowed. UGC Secretary Manish Joshi has written a letter to all the universities in this regard, saying that as per the rules, any institution holding the Aadhaar number will not make public any database or record related to it until the Aadhaar number is properly verified.
