Admissions have to be completed till 15 October in AKTU College Lucknow latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 07/09/2023: AKTU and affiliated engineering institutes have got relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has ordered AKTU to settle the matter of affiliation of colleges by 15th September. Along with this, the admission process in BTech, MTech, Pharmacy will have to be completed by October 15. AKTU Vice Chancellor Prof. JP Pandey said that soon the university will release the counseling schedule.
90 Colleges had applied for seats and branches
The admission process for about 1.32 lakh seats in AKTU and its affiliated 749 engineering, pharmacy institutes was stalled. In the session 2023-24, old colleges were to be given affiliation extension and new colleges were to be given affiliation by 31st July. AKTU could not complete this process within the stipulated time. While according to AICTE rules, the process was to be completed by July 31. Due to this, new colleges did not get affiliation, nor could the affiliation of old colleges be expanded. Some colleges had appealed to the Supreme Court for relief but did not get relief. On August 21, AKTU appealed to the apex court for extension of time, but the petition was rejected. After hearing the special permission petition filed after this, the court gave relief.
About 43 thousand candidates registered
AKTU Admission Coordinator Prof. Arun Tiwari said, more than 43 thousand (except BPharma) have registered for B.Tech, UG and PG courses in 2023-24. 33,800 have registered for B.Tech. 5730 candidates of CUET UG and 3409 candidates of PG are also included.
Will complete the affiliation and counseling process within the date fixed by the Supreme Court. Affiliation matters will be resolved in due time. The counseling schedule will be released soon.
