Latest Updated 19/09/2023: At least 75 percent attendance in classes has been made mandatory for students in government engineering and polytechnic colleges. If the attendance is less than this, the student will not be able to appear in the examination. In this regard, the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education has released guidelines to all college principals.

Secretary of the department, Lokesh Kumar, in a letter written to the principals-in-charge of all the engineering and polytechnic colleges on Monday, has clarified that the students studying in all the above institutions will be allowed to appear in the upcoming examination only if their attendance is minimum 75 percent. On the other hand, in this matter, the Secretary has said that the Principal will himself be able to investigate and take a decision in the case of those students who have not been able to register 75 percent attendance during this period due to health reasons. Here in the letter issued by the department, it has also been said that a guideline will also be issued by Bihar Engineering University and State Board of Secondary Education regarding the implementation of this system.
