207 teachers posts upgrade of medical colleges of Bihar by Helath Department latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 23/09/2023: The Health Department has taken a big decision regarding restoration of recognition of medical college hospitals of the state. Notification has been issued to upgrade the posts of many Associate Professors and Professors. The reversal of posts has been done keeping in mind the oversight of the National Medical Commission (NMC). According to the department, 21 assistant professors have been upgraded to associate professors and 186 associate professors have been upgraded to professors.

Sources said that the posts of 10 doctors who were not regular associate professors earlier were upgraded to professors. The posts of such doctors have been upgraded twice without regularizing them two posts above Assistant Professor. The result of reversal of posts is that there are many departments where the number of professors is more than the sanctioned posts, while 165 associate posts have become vacant in all the medical college hospitals of the state.
On the other hand, the Health Department has started the process of deployment of new civil surgeons in other districts including Patna. New civil surgeons will be posted in Patna while in other districts the post of civil surgeon will be given in-charge. Regular civil surgeons will also be deployed in Banka, Muzaffarpur, Supaul and Khagaria, the process of which has started.
