After the earthquake, power supply came to a standstill in the affected areas and traffic was disrupted due to piles of debris at various places. According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 11:11 pm (local time). Most of the people were in deep sleep when the earthquake occurred. There was a complete panic due to the tremors and people ran to save their lives. The epicenter of this earthquake was in the city of Ighil in Al Houz province, about 70 kilometers south of Marrakesh.
