According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 11:11 pm (local time). Most of the people were in deep sleep when the earthquake occurred. There was a complete panic due to the tremors and people ran to save their lives. The epicenter of this earthquake was in the city of Ighil in Al Houz province, about 70 kilometers south of Marrakesh.
