Application challenging constable recruitment rejected

Latest Updated 01/09/2023: The Patna High Court dismissed a petition challenging the recruitment process of constables in Bihar Police and Bihar Special Armed Police. The court said that there is no disturbance in the conditions of restoration. The advertisement issued on August 1 last year was challenged that the cut-off date for age limit did not include candidates who have completed intermediate course during the academic year 2022-23.

11,000 policemen, who have been waiting for promotion for a long time, have been given the charge of higher posts on the instructions of the police headquarters. These include posts ranging from Assistant Sub Inspector to Police Inspector. At the same time, the Police Headquarters has sent a proposal for higher charge of the posts ranging from Police Inspector to Deputy Superintendent of Police to the Home Department in total 18,553 posts to be given charge on higher posts. The Home Department has also given its initial consent on this.


On Thursday, Additional Director General of Police, Headquarters Jitendra Singh Gangwar gave this information in a press conference. He said that due to this executive charge, there will be no additional burden on the revenue of the state government. They will perform all their responsibilities and wear uniform accordingly.


Gangwar said that a large number of vacancies are arising in the important posts of promotion-based police officers – Deputy Superintendent of Police, Inspector, Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector. That's why it has been decided to hand over the charge of higher posts to them.
