Latest Updated 19/08/2023: The government is going to change the system of free admission on 25 percent seats of private schools under RTE. The facility of admission in private schools will be considered only if there is no seat in government and non-government schools. At present, more than one lakh students are studying in private schools under RTE quota in the state. The government bears all their expenses.


Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that at present government schools of the state are in a better condition than before. Teachers of government schools are also better and qualified. That's why it has become necessary that the rule of RTE should be amended now. Its proposal is being prepared. It will be brought in the cabinet.

This is the loss: In the last 12 years, under the RTE quota, the government has given more than 800 crores as fees to private schools. The cost of dress, book, MDM etc. is not included in this. In order to provide education to every student, in the year 2011-12, the government had implemented the system of free admission from the youngest class to the eighth grade in private schools under RTE quota. Under this, 25 percent of their seats in more than four thousand private schools of the state were reserved under RTE quota. Children from economically weak and underprivileged families are eligible.
