Latest Updated 26/08/2023: Students of State Sanskrit Schools will also be given the benefit of CM Scholarship Scheme. Along with this, funds will also be made available to the students of Sanskrit universities for research work. A grand Sanskrit Gyan Kumbh will also be organized in the state.

This decision was taken in the ninth meeting of the General Committee of Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy at the secretariat on Friday under the chairmanship of the CM. The CM instructed to prepare a detailed action plan for the protection and promotion of Sanskrit. Sanskrit Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat informed about the decision taken on scholarship scheme, research promotion, Gyan Kumbh. Acharya Balakrishna, Vice-Chancellor of Patanjali Yogpeeth, suggested preparation of folk songs in Sanskrit on the lines of Assam and installation of sign boards in Sanskrit at prominent places.
Dr. Jitram Bhatt, Secretary, Hindi, Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari Academy, New Delhi, suggested that a Sanskrit memoir of the folk songs of the state should be prepared on the same lines. Pro. RPS Negi, Sanskrit Academy Secretary SP Khali also expressed their views. During this, Secretary Vinod Prasad Raturi, Additional Secretary SK Singh, Yogendra Yadav, Lalit Mohan Ryal, Anita Joshi, Deputy Secretary Pradeep Mohan Nautiyal, Head of Department of Banbasa College Champawat Prof. Mukesh Kumar was present.
