Latest Updated 24/08/2023: Sanitary napkin vending machines will be installed in the schools of the state. It will be established in schools in proportion to the number of girl students. Soon after taking a decision in this regard, the process of installing the machines will be started. The department has called a meeting on Thursday regarding this.

Education Department Secretary Baidyanath Yadav has said in a letter issued regarding the meeting that construction of girls toilets and installation of sanitary napkin dispensers (vending machines) are to be done in schools. In the light of the order of the High Court, a guideline has to be prepared for construction of toilets and installation of sanitary napkin dispensers in proportion to the number of girl students in the schools. Its proposal has been prepared. The finalization of the guide will be discussed in the meeting.
A hearing in this regard is to be held in the High Court on 29 August. Women and Child Development Corporation President, Director of Secondary and Primary Education, Chief Engineer and Managing Director of Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Corporation and amicus curiae Shambhu Sharan Singh and Archana Singh have been called in the meeting.
