Opportunity for Admission in PhD to the students of IIT Dhanbad in NIRF Ranking Colleges latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 19/08/2023: Students having Bachelor's or Master's degree from top 20 NIRF ranking colleges in the country will get priority for admission to PhD in IIT Dhanbad. These students will directly appear in the interview without qualifying GATE, NET. However, these students must have 8 or more CGPA in Master's or Bachelor's degree from the respective institutes. Earlier IIT ISM had this facility only for qualified students passed out from IITs of the country.
IIT Dhanbad has approved Academic Reforms for admission to Ph.D. The change has been implemented from session 23-24 itself. Students having two years of experience in PSUs/research institutes will also get a chance for part time Ph.D. That too without GATE, NET, CAT/ GMAT. The concerned students will have to fulfill other eligibility for admission to Ph.D. The application and selection process for enrollment in Part Time Ph.D. will be similar to that followed for externally funded candidates. Coursework attendance is not mandatory for part time scholars. Such students will have to appear in the exam in offline mode on campus. To publish at least one research paper in Q One or Q Two journals of JCR as per JIF/JCI based Web of Science (WOS) ranking.
Many companies did campus selection
The process of getting PPO to the students of the year 2024 batch is going on in IIT ISM. Five students have been offered jobs by Exxon Mobil, one by Extrea and other companies. A large number of students have also got internships.
