Decision taken in the meeting of Bihar Police Central Administrative Committee, two lakhs are now available
Latest Updated 25/08/2023: In case of death of state policemen while on duty, their families will be given an immediate financial grant of Rs 25 lakh. Officers from the constable of Bihar Police to the Indian Police Service (IPS) level will also come under its ambit. The amount will be paid through check or directly into the bank account of the concerned person.
This decision was taken in the meeting of Bihar Police Central Administrative Committee held under the chairmanship of Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Rajwinder Singh Bhatti on Tuesday. Earlier, on death while on duty, Rs 2 lakh was paid. This information was given by Assistant Inspector General of Police (Welfare) Vishal Sharma in a press conference organized at the police headquarters on Thursday.
The beginning of giving the amount, Mr. Sharma told the martyr OP in-charge of Samastipur that the decision taken in the meeting of the administrative committee has been implemented with immediate effect. Financial grant of Rs 25 lakh will be started by giving amount to the family members of Mohanpur OP Police Station President Shaheed Nandkishore Yadav of Samastipur.

Grant will also be given on death during raid
Shri Sharma told that this grant amount will also be given on the death of a policeman during the raid. At the same time, an amount of 25 lakh will be provided for death during encounter with militants-criminal, landmine, Naxalite attack, riot, accident. The amount will also be paid in case of death during treatment after getting injured in these incidents. He said that in case of suicide, the grant will not be payable. In the meeting of the Central Administrative Committee, grant-in-aid from the Bihar Police Charitable Fund, grant in special circumstances from the Police Assistance and Welfare Fund, grant-in-aid from the Bihar Police Education Fund, and grant-in-aid were approved.
