Strictness: Governor sent instructions to Vice Chancellors

Latest Updated 25/08/2023: 75 percent attendance of students will be mandatory in all universities and colleges of the state. Instructions have been issued by the Raj Bhavan to the Vice Chancellors of all the universities on Wednesday night in this regard. Students will not be allowed to fill the examination form without 75% attendance. They will not get a chance to appear in the examination under any circumstances.

The Raj Bhavan has expressed displeasure over the permission to fill the examination form despite not having 75 per cent attendance. In the letter issued by the Raj Bhavan, it has been said that such information is being received that even after the low attendance, the students are being given a chance to appear in the examination by filling the examination form. It should not happen. In a letter written by Robert L Chongthu, Principal Secretary to the Governor, all the Vice Chancellors have been directed to make 75 per cent attendance mandatory. He has said that if the attendance is less than 75 percent then do not submit the form for appearing in the examination. Do not allow such students to appear in the examination if there is no valid reason. On behalf of the Raj Bhavan, the universities have been asked to ensure compliance of this order at all costs.
