A day before on Saturday, Dr. Veena Jha Sharma, Assistant Professor of the college, had tried to hang herself by accusing the Principal of harassing her. Other teachers and personnel had saved his life by breaking open the door. The atmosphere in the college is very heated since this incident. Meanwhile, the Principal of the college, Dr. Sharmila Rani, has written a letter to the Vice-Chancellor requesting him to retire. If the VC retires her, she will contribute to the post of principal in a college in Ranchi. Here, since this incident, many student organizations have divided into two groups. On one hand Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is protesting against the Principal, while the student AJSU, while demanding an inquiry into the matter, has accused the Principal of implicating him in a conspiracy.
Sanha booked in professor's suicide attempt case
Sanha has been registered in Dhanbad police station on the complaint of Dr. Veena Jha Sharma of History Department, who attempted suicide by hanging herself in SSLNT College. He accused the college principal Dr. Sharmila Rani of harassing him. The principal had told the police that she used to commute from Bokaro to the college every day. The principal always humiliates them. On Saturday she had gone to meet the principal regarding the bill. The principal misbehaved with him.
University President of AJSU Students Union Vishal Mahato said that the suicide attempt by SSLNT college professor alleging mental harassment on the principal is sponsored. This conspiracy is being hatched to remove the principal at the behest of the VC.
In a press conference at Gandhi Seva Sadan on Sunday, Vishal Mahato said that a teacher knows that if someone misbehaves with her, she should complain to the higher institute university of the college. If no action is taken from there too, then Raj Bhavan is a higher institution than that, but by not making such a complaint, carrying out such an incident seems like a conspiracy to remove the principal. Vikas Kumar, student leader Dinesh Das, Vicky Kumar, Sonu Karmakar, Sachin Das, Shubham Rajak, Mukesh Mahato, Rahul Yaduvanshi, Vivek Mahato were present in the press conference.
