Latest Updated 24/07/2023: Medical college will start soon in Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Najma Akhtar, announced this on Sunday. Its plan was pending in Jamia for a long time.

Vice-Chancellor Najma Akhtar said at the convocation ceremony of the university that the central government has given permission to start a medical college. This was the need of Jamia Millia Islamia and they sought permission from the President and the Prime Minister to start a medical college in JMI.

He said that we have dental, physiotherapy, first aid health centers, but there is no medical college in Jamia Millia Islamia. He said that the university is also planning to set up a campus abroad soon.

Degrees and diplomas were awarded to 12,500 students Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was the chief guest of the convocation, while Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan presided over the event. During this, degrees and diplomas were awarded to about 12,500 students who passed out in the year 2019 and 2020.
