Mastermind arrested from Patna in Odisha Paper leak latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 28/07/2023: Balasore Police has arrested the mastermind from Patna in the Odisha SSC exam paper leak case. Apart from him, seven other people were caught in raids in other areas including West Bengal. The mastermind caught from Patna is Vishal Chowdhary, an accountant of the Rural Works Department. Vishal was the kingpin of the paper leak gang.
Odisha Police was camping in Patna for the last one week. Vishal was caught with the help of Special Cell and police of Kotwali police station. This operation was kept very secret. In the investigation so far, it has come to light that Vishal was involved in the CGL question paper leak case in the year 2012 as well. Vishal was involved in the paper leak of many competitive exams. Vishal has connections with a person named Virendra Singh who works in a printing press in Kolkata. He had given the information about the question paper to Vishal. In this case, so far the Balasore police have arrested a total of 17 accused. Of these, six are from Bihar, one from West Bengal, one from Andhra Pradesh, and nine from Odisha.
Other accomplices were also caught, interrogation is going on Odisha police is interrogating Vishal. He revealed names of his other accomplices. One of his companions Vikas was also caught by the police from the border of Patna and Vaishali. After this, a total of six accused were arrested from different places.
Paper was distributed in Digha
After coming in contact with West Bengal-based printing press worker Virendra Singh Paswan, as soon as Vishal got the question paper in his hand, he called all the candidates to a hotel in Digha, West Bengal. There Vishal took money from the candidates and gave them question papers. In this whole episode, the name of a person living in Vaishali is also coming to the fore. Apart from Vishal, Virendra had also provided the question paper to another person from Bihar. Virendra is originally from Bihar.
Vishal and Virendra were in contact for two months
According to Balasore SP, Vishal and Virender were in contact with each other for two months. Both were continuously talking on the phone. Recently, Delhi Crime Branch was also looking for Vishal in a question paper leak case.
