Latest Updated 29/07/2023:  Bihar Board has also made 75% attendance mandatory in schools. Only those students whose attendance will be 75 percent will be included in the Matriculation and Inter 2024 exams.


In this regard, the Bihar Board has informed all the District Magistrates, Regional Deputy Director of Education, District Education Office and Principals. It is already compulsory in CBSE and ICSE. Let us inform that till now attendance in the school was not mandatory for appearing in matriculation and inter examination. Whether students come to school or not, they get a chance to appear in the board exams.

It used to be mandatory for the students to appear only in the matriculation and intermediate centup exams, but now the Bihar Board has made it mandatory to attend school from ninth to 12th. According to the board, by the beginning of January, only those children whose attendance will be 75 percent will be able to appear in the matriculation and intermediate examinations. 75% attendance is necessary to take advantage of schemes


For Mukhyamantri Cycle Yojna, Mukhyamantri Dress Yojna, Mukhyamantri Protsahan Yojna, Mukhyamantri Kishori Swasthya Yojna etc., 75% attendance is mandatory in class IX. Students who do not have 75% attendance do not get the benefit of the scheme. According to the Bihar Board, 75% attendance of the students is mandatory for the scheme benefits, so this rule has been implemented for the board exams as well.


If the attendance is not complete, then you can be deprived of the examination


According to the Bihar Board, if 75 attendance is not completed in the school, the students may have to be deprived of the board examination. Schools have been instructed to be strict regarding this. DEO has also been asked to increase maximum attendance. 


Classes remain empty in 10th-12th in inspection


The school is being inspected continuously in July. On surprise inspection, it has been observed that the attendance in most of the schools in class 10th and 12th is 10 to 15 per cent. Whereas students in ninth were found present. Means they come to school in ninth because they have to take advantage of the scheme.
