Jharkhand High Court (JHC) asked whether CTET pass has a chance in teacher recruitment or not latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 26/07/2023: A hearing was held on Tuesday in the Jharkhand High Court on a petition filed in the case regarding recognition of CTET pass candidates as JTET. In the petition, a demand has been made by the Jharkhand government to allow teachers to participate in the appointment and to take the JTET exam soon.

During the hearing, a division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen wanted to know from the advocate of the state government whether CTET pass candidates are being given a chance like JET pass candidates in teacher appointments in the state or pass Tet candidates from any other state are also being given a chance. On not getting a positive reply on this, the court directed the advocate to inform the court after taking instructions from the state government. Along with this, the date of next hearing of the case was fixed for 18 August. This PIL has been filed by the Jharkhand CTET Passed Students Association.
Public Interest Litigation Please inform that a Public Interest Litigation has been filed on behalf of Jharkhand CTET Passed Students Union. On behalf of the petitioner, the court has been told that in the year 2016, the JET exam was conducted by the Jharkhand government. After that TET exam has not been taken in the state. While there is a provision to take TET exam every year. In such a situation, when the examination has not been taken for almost seven years, then a large number of candidates will be deprived of the appointment of teachers by the state government. Therefore, the court has been requested that the CTET candidate taken by the Central Government should also be allowed to join the appointment or take the TET exam, recognizing it as a JET.
