Vigilance raid in Bhagalpur, 1.5 kg gold seized
Latest Updated 27/07/2023: A special team of the Vigilance Bureau raided the residence of Srikant Sharma, senior project engineer of Pul Nirman Nigam Limited in connection with the disproportionate assets case. On Wednesday morning, the investigation team raided the four-storey house of the engineer located in Hanuman Nagar Mohalla in Bhagalpur. During the search, two suitcases full of currency notes were found. On counting, 97.80 lakh cash came out.

Apart from 1.25 kg gold ornaments, one gold biscuit and 3 kg 230 grams silver ornaments have been recovered. Their value is being estimated at around Rs 69 lakh. Documents related to land and property have been found at about 30 places. In this, the documents related to the plot of land are the most important. These plots are in Patna, Bhagalpur, Dehradun, Rishikesh and Munger. In some places, the matter of flat and house has also come to the fore. Searches have also been conducted in his office located in Bhagalpur. In the investigation so far, illegal assets worth more than 3.18 crores have been caught against Sharma.

18 passbooks, 10 policy papers seized
18 passbooks, more than 10 policy papers have been found. Lakhs of rupees can also be deposited in all the bank accounts. At present, the details of the entire amount kept in these are being obtained from the concerned banks. Transactions in all these accounts will also be investigated.
4 storey house like five star hotel in Bhagalpur
The interior decoration of the four-storey house in Bhagalpur has been done on the lines of a five-star hotel. The investigation team is busy in probing the decorations worth crores. Expenses will be investigated in this.
Cash and land will be investigated separately
The team of the Monitoring Bureau will interrogate them separately regarding the recovered 97.80 lakh cash. It will know where these money came from and to whom it belongs. What is the share of anyone else in this or the entire amount is theirs only. Has such a huge amount been taken as bribe in any project or case? Monitoring bureau will investigate all these aspects separately.
