Breaking News: 8 children drowned while bathing in UP Raebareli, 5 died
Latest Updated 09/07/2023: Eight children drowned on Saturday while taking a bath in a swollen storm drain, out of which three were rescued but five died. The district administration has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the families of each of the deceased.

Ritu (8) daughter Jeetu, Sonam (10) and brother Amit sons Sonu, Vaishali (12), sister Vaishnavi (9), Sandika (8) daughter Man Singh, Vishesh (4) son Dinesh and Khushi (6) daughter Monu Nale I had gone to bathe. Suddenly all the children started drowning. Seeing the children drowning, Sonika, who was grazing the goat, ran making noise and saved Sandika (8) daughter Man Singh, Vishish (4) son Dinesh and Khushi (6) daughter Monu by putting a rope made of straw, but she could not save the others. Hearing the noise, other people of the village came and took out the dead bodies of other drowned children. On information reached the SDM along with the police of the police station. Police sent all the bodies for postmortem. The health team started treating the rescued children. SP Alok Priyadarshi has confirmed the death of five children. ADM Administration Prafulla Tripathi said that financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each is being provided to the family of each deceased by the government.
