Breaking News: 30 CNG Stations will be built in Dhanbad-Giridih

Latest Updated 22/07/2023: The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is to set up 30 CNG stations within eight years under the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) network in Dhanbad and Giridih. Of these, eight stations have been made operational. There, 50 thousand PNG connections have to be made available. So far 12029 PNG (domestic) connections have been given.


This information has been given by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on the question of Dhanbad MP PN Singh. The MP had sought several information from the Ministry on the City Gas Pipeline scheme. At the same time, he also questioned the problem being faced in laying the gas pipeline in the colliery area. According to the information given by the Minister of State, PNGRB has authorized GAIL India Limited to lay Jagdishpur-Haldia and Bokaro-Dhamra natural gas pipelines.

The Dobhi-Durgapur section of the pipeline has already been commissioned at Dhanbad. The operation of the pipeline connecting Giridih and Dhanbad has also been started in February 2023. 300 GAs have been authorized to develop CGD network across the country covering about 98% population of the country and 88% geographical area spread over about 630 districts in 28 States/UTs.
