Breaking News: Train AC chair car fare will be reduced by 25%
Latest Updated 09/07/2023: The government has decided to reduce the fare in AC chair car and executive class of all trains by up to 25 per cent. Under the rational fare policy, the basic fare can be reduced from 5 to 25 according to the capacity of passengers in trains. It will be under the jurisdiction of Zonal Railways.
Railway Board has issued guidelines in this regard to all Zonal Railways. Accordingly, there is a need to reduce the fare in AC chaircar and executive class of all trains having Vande Bharat, Shatabdi, Anubhuti, Vistadome coaches. Other charges like reservation fee, superfast surcharge, GST in the fare will remain the same. Passengers who have already booked tickets will not get the benefit. The zonal railways will make the selection on the basis of trains with less than 50 passenger capacity during 30 days, the official said.
No facility in Special Train
This plan will not be applicable on the special trains run on holidays or the festivals. It has been said in the order that rational fare policy is being implemented to increase the number of passengers. If the number of passengers in such trains goes from 90 to 100 then the exemption can be withdrawn. This policy will not be applicable in sleeper class including classes 1, 2 and 3 of AC.
