Sainik Schools will open soon in 16 districts of UP latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 05/06/2023: Sainik schools will soon be opened in 16 districts of the state. All will be opened on PPP (Public Private Partnership) basis. The newly opened Sainik Schools will be created or established by converting government, non-government aided, private or non-governmental organization (NGO)-run schools into Sainik Schools.
On the basis of the letter received from the Sainik School Society of the Ministry of Defense to the state government, the govt has sent a letter to the district magistrates of all 16 districts where New Sainik Schools are to be opened.
Four years back, the state government had sent a letter of request to the Ministry of Defense to open a Sainik School in every division of the state. The Ministry of Defense has given its consent to that request. In a letter sent by Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education, it has been said that DMs can request to convert schools running in their districts into military schools. To open a Sainik School, the selected educational institution in the district will have to register / apply as per the Rules and Regulations-2022 for New Sainik Schools on the website of the Sainik School Society of the Ministry of Defense http;//sainikschool.ncog.gov.in.

Ministry of Defense has three Sainik Schools
Three Sainik Schools are being run by the Ministry of Defense in the state which are in Amethi, Jhansi, Mainpuri. Apart from this, a provision of Rs 90 crore has been made by the state government to build a Sainik School in Gorakhpur. UP Sainik School is being operated in Lucknow which is run by the state government.
