Rating of teachers being decided in IIT Dhanbad on the feedback of students latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 16/06/2023: Engineering students of the session 2022-23 have said bye-bye to IIT Dhanbad after completion of their studies. Before leaving the institute, final year students gave online feedback about IIT teachers and other facilities. IIT has decided the rating of teachers on the basis of the feedback of students. Teachers getting more than 9 points out of 10 points are included in Excellent, teachers getting 8.5 to 9 points are included in Good and Verygood category.
On the other hand, the teachers who got 7 or less points are being asked to improve teaching technique by issuing letters. Such identified teachers are being issued advisory asking them to improve their teaching. The important thing is that the names of the students are not being disclosed to the teachers. The names of the students giving feedback on behalf of the institute are being kept confidential. Let us tell that before leaving the institute, passout students were ordered to compulsorily give feedback till 15 May.
Director Prof. Rajeev Shekhar said that this initiative has been started on the basis of the feedback of the students. AI course in each department from winter semester IIT Dhanbad will start one AI (Artificial Intelligence) course in each department from winter semester year 2024. Director Prof. Rajeev Shekhar says that every department has been instructed to include two lectures of AI. Explain what would be the advantage of AI. After that we will start it from the year 2024. Preparation has started in all its departments.
Target to reach top ten of NIRF
The director told that the goal of IIT Dhanbad is to reach the top ten of NIRF. There is a focus on other points including publications, patents. The patent of the institute has also increased. We are a little behind in the student-teacher ratio. That too is being rectified. Four chances are being given to the students who are not able to complete their studies on time and pass the examination. Boys hostel with a capacity of 2000 will start from the new session. It is being considered to name it Aqua Marine.
