JBVNL Electricity department will pay interest on security money every year latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 19/06/2023: Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam (JBVNL) is about to launch a new app to pay interest on the security money deposited in lieu of the connections of the consumers. The Jharkhand Electricity Regulatory Commission has taken a tough stand regarding this.
The commission directed JBVNL to pay interest on the security money charged to the consumers against their connection in any case. After this JBVNL has become serious about this matter and has started preparing mobile app. For interest on security money, the commission has given instructions several times in the past as well. But, JBVNL has been making excuses demanding connection receipt.

If someone has taken the connection 20-30 years ago, then everyone will have the receipt, it is very unlikely. When JBVNL asked for the connection receipt, most of the consumers could not provide it. Due to this the matter went on hanging. But, now after the instructions of the commission, there are chances of solving this issue.
It should be known that if everything goes well, the consumers will get interest on the security money deposited in lieu of connection for years, which will be deducted along with their electricity bill.
