Breaking News: Gold worth 8 crore seized from train at Patna Junction
Latest Updated 12/06/2023: Special team of DRI has arrested two smugglers with 12.5 kg gold at Patna Junction from AC coach of Duronto Express train going from Kolkata to New Delhi. The market value of this gold is said to be around Rs 8 crore. Both of them had tied more than 30 gold biscuits in their bodies.

After his arrest, all these biscuits were recovered during his search. During interrogation, it was revealed that both the arrested smugglers are residents of outside Bihar. He has done courier work like this before. This time also these people were going to supply gold to someone in Delhi with a consignment of gold from Kolkata. Investigation so far has revealed that these two are connected to a big nexus of gold smuggling spread across major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata. There is a suspicion of bringing this gold from Myanmar via West Bengal.
