HSRP is mandatory for all vehicles from 2016. Shopkeepers are making fake number plates at places including Tyagi Road, Chandanagar, Raja Road, Ghosi Gali, Inamulla Building, ISBT, Karanpur, Ladpur. Some are charging Rs 500 and some Rs 700 for making plates. The Government of India has again issued a notification this month instructing the State Governments to ban unauthorized HSRP.
