High Court ban on recruitment process of 190 posts of Lower PCS by UKPSC latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 29/06/2023: The High Court has stayed the recruitment process of 190 posts of Lower PCS by the State Public Service Commission. Along with this, the State Public Service Commission and the State Government have been directed to file their reply within three weeks.
Successful candidates in the main examination were to be interviewed from 24 July
Senior Judge Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari's single bench heard the petition of Vinod Singh Jina of Nainital. It has been said in the petition that in August 2021, a release was issued by the Uttarakhand State Public Service Commission for the posts of Lower PCS. After the declaration of the result, the successful candidates in the main examination were to be interviewed from 24 July. Meanwhile, six posts of Divyang reservation quota were returned to the state government by the commission.
The petitioner states that when the state government has identified vacancies for the Divyang quota, the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, an agency of the state government, cannot return the vacancies to the government. The Single Bench has directed the Government and the Commission to file a reply in the matter within three weeks and the petitioner to file a counter affidavit within a week. The next hearing of the case will be on August 9.
