Breaking News: Approval to make the Chairman for PM Prasad of Coal India
Latest Updated 29/06/2023: The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to appoint CCL CMD PM Prasad as Coal India Chairman. This has been confirmed in a letter issued by Coal India on Wednesday.
PM Prasad will take over as Coal India Chairman on July 1. He will remain on this post till 31 October 2025. He became the CMD of CCL in September 2020. Prior to this, he was the CMD of BCCL. He has also been the Executive Director of NTPC. He holds a BE degree from Osmania University. He has also studied in ISM Dhanbad.
Increasing domestic coal production is the biggest challenge The biggest challenge before PM Prasad is to increase domestic coal production and reduce coal imports. There is also a task to take Coal India's production to one billion tonnes by 2024-25.
