Admission will be done on 100 seats in Purnea Medical College Bihar latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 14/06/2023: The way has been cleared for MBBS studies in Purnea Medical College. The National Medical Council (NMC) has given permission to study on 100 MBBS seats in Purnia. The letter of intent sent by the Commission has been received by the Health Department. Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Pratyay Amrit said that after receiving the letter from NMC, the process of enrollment will now be started in Purnia. With this, the state government has 10 medical colleges in the state.
Purnia Medical College is ready since two years. Last year also the state government had requested the central government to start MBBS studies here. But, the department was not successful. After getting the permission of NMC, enrollment for 100 seats will be possible in the current session 2023-24 itself.

Significantly, before allowing the nomination, the central team had also inspected it. During that time the team had found some flaws in the medical college. But, after giving assurance letter from health department, NMC has allowed enrollment in Purnia. Prior to this, permission has been granted for enrollment on 100 seats in Nalanda's Rahui Dental College, the benefits of which will be available to the students.
