170 shops will start from 6th June in the vending zone of Kohinoor Maidan Dhanbad latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 04/06/2023: The Municipal Corporation has handed over the allotment letters to the selected shopkeepers for the vending zone built at Kohinoor Maidan. Handing over letters to 170 shopkeepers, the Municipal Corporation has given permission to set up shop from Tuesday. Your own popular newspaper Hindustan in its May 26 issue had prominently raised the issue of non-opening of shops in the vending zones. Taking cognizance of this, the Municipal Commissioner has directed to start the shop from Tuesday. Last month, shops were allotted by lottery for the vending zone built at Kohinoor Maidan. There were 240 applicants for 192 shops.
The corporation had allotted shops but had not yet given permission to set them up. Out of 192 shops, only 170 shopkeepers came forward for allotment. For the remaining 22 shops, the municipal corporation will hold lottery again. The shopkeepers here will have to pay Rs 500 as rent every month to the corporation. Those shopkeepers who will not start shop even after allotment, their security money will be confiscated and lottery will be conducted again.
