Latest Updated 05/06/2023: Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav said on Sunday that there will be 16 thousand new appointments in the Rural Works Department. These appointments will be made on the posts ranging from technical to support staff. Its purpose is to remove the shortage of manpower in the department and to construct and maintain rural roads in a timely manner. The Deputy Chief Minister said these things while addressing the 22nd general meeting and departmental review meeting of Bihar Rural Roads Development Agency at Gyan Bhavan on Sunday.
It may be noted that during the review of Rural Works Department on 31 May, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had directed the department to take care of the maintenance of rural roads. For this, all the engineers and personnel needed were asked to be reinstated soon. In view of this, the process of restoration will start soon after the announcement of Deputy CM cum Departmental Minister Tejashwi Yadav.

Addressing the function, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister has given the responsibility of this department, so he is trying to fulfill the responsibility in a better way. He told the engineers and officers that they need not come under any pressure and do wrong things while working in the field. If there is such a condition, then its information should be conveyed to him through Pankaj Pal which is the secretary of the department. The problem will be solved. Work honestly. On the occasion, the agenda passed in the previous meeting of Bihar Rural Roads Development Agency was confirmed in the General Assembly. Along with this, 25 agenda points passed in various executive committee meetings in the last one and a half years were passed by voice vote.

The Deputy CM asked the engineers & officers to fix the worst roads on priority basis. There will be no reconciliation on the quality of construction of roads & bridges. Many new bridges have been reported to be broken, this brings defamation to the government, but the bigger concern is to stop the loss of life and property of the common people. Very soon artificial intelligence quality monitoring will be implemented everywhere in the state. With it, there will be a real time monitoring of the rural roads. Instructed that after monitoring the work of officers and engineers every month, their ranking should be released.
