Latest Updated 04/06/2023: The Education Department can get additional exemption of 15 days for transfer, but other departments will have to transfer the employees within the stipulated time.


The Transfer Act has a deadline of 10 June for the transfer of teachers and employees, but most of the departments have not yet held transfer committee meetings. According to the Act, within 25 May to 5 June, the transfer process and the recommendation of the competent authority should be done compulsorily. There is a provision to upload the transfer orders of the concerned personnel on the website of the departments by June 10 and to relieve them within the next one week. Three days ago, in the meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, several departments including Education, AYUSH sought additional time for transfer of personnel.

Sources said that the education department argued that the number of teachers coming in for the transfer was high and the process started late. On the other hand, other departments will transfer within the stipulated period. The departments which will not be able to complete this process in this period, will have to take recommendation for transfer from one level above.


Opposition to the transfer of 'Group C' from the government level
