Wheat procurement will now be till 15 June in Bihar latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 31/05/2023: The government has extended the date for procurement of wheat. Procurement will now be done till 15 June at the authorized centers of Paxos, Trade Boards, Nafed and Food Corporation. Earlier the last date for purchase was 31 May. The Food and Consumer Protection Department has issued a notification in this regard. Special Secretary Sanjay Kumar Upadhyay has ordered that the last date for depositing wheat at collection centers after procurement has also been extended to 22 June.
The process of wheat procurement is not picking up pace in the state. Wheat procurement has also decreased as compared to last year. Till Tuesday, only 613 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured through state packs and trade boards, while the target is one million metric tonnes.
