Center developed portal for seed tracking will be implemented in the state soon, Center asked for DPR

Latest Updated 20/05/2023: Manoj Ahuja, Agriculture and Welfare Secretary, Government of India, has asked State Agriculture Minister Badal and Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique to identify 500 high schools in the state for soil testing. The Government of India will make arrangements for soil testing lab in these schools.


School students will be given training in soil testing, so that they will bring soil from their own land and that of other farmers and get it tested in the lab. After the investigation, we will be able to tell the farmers that how is the soil of the tested field and which grains can be grown there. This will be a good experiment, which will benefit the farmers. The Union Secretary has asked to send a detailed project for this. He said that the Govt of India has arranged a portal for seed tracking, it should be implemented shortly in Jharkhand as well, so that the right seeds can be distributed in the market.

Union Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja and Animal Husbandry Secretary Alka Upadhyay were interacting with State Agriculture Minister Badal, Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique and Agriculture Director Chandan Kumar at Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi on Friday. During this, Government of India's Joint Secretary Agriculture S. Rukmini and State Agriculture Director Chandan Kumar, Deputy Director Cow Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Fisheries Officer Pradeep Kumar were also present.


Request to make model veterinary hospital

During the meeting Union Secretaries were requested by State Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakar Siddiqui to make a State Model Veterinary Hospital on a 24 x 7 mode in the State. He said that the availability of loans to the youth through NABARD under the Credit Guarantee Scheme would help them to stand on their own feet. The Agriculture Minister told the Agriculture Secretary that 226 blocks in 22 districts of the state had been declared drought-hit due to less rainfall in the last Kharif season. For which the State Government has requested the Central Government to provide assistance amounting to Rs.9682.69 crores. He urged that this amount should be given to the farmers of the state in coordination with the Disaster Department. There will be a big rest for the farmers who are facing the brunt of drought.


Center sought soon for 236 mobile veterinary ambulances


Agriculture Minister Badal requested that the central government should release the funds soon for the operation of 236 mobile veterinary ambulances in the state of Jharkhand, so that people get benefited from it. At the same time, the central government should also help us in making consultation and DPR for the renovation of the closed bacon factory in the state. He also requested the Government of India to release the central share in the National Livestock Development Scheme. The minister said that he has requested to select an agency for consultation on the shortcomings in the central schemes being run in the state.
