NIA says Yasin Malik should be hanged latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 27/05/2023: The National Investigation Agency i.e.; NIA on Friday approached the Delhi High Court (DHC) seeking death penalty for separatist leader Yasin Malik.
Yasin Malik was sentenced to life imprisonment by a trial court in a terror financing case. The NIA plea is listed for hearing on 29 May before a bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul & Justice Talwant Singh.
Yasin gets life term
On 24 May 2022, a trial court had sentenced Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik to life imprisonment after holding him guilty of various offenses under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (IPC). However, the NIA's plea for capital punishment was rejected by the court.
