Navy caught drugs worth 12 thousand crores from Kerala Kochi latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 14/05/2023: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Navy on Saturday seized 2,500 kg of methamphetamine worth Rs 12,000 crore in a joint operation off the coast of Kerala. A Pakistani national has also been arrested in this case.
In a press conference, NCB officials told that the fresh consignment of narcotics was to be sent from Afghanistan to India, Sri Lanka and Maldives. The consignment was intercepted from the mother ship, which was to distribute the narcotics to several boats off the Makran coast via Pakistan and Iran. The NCB said that 134 bags of suspected methamphetamine being taken to Mattancherry Wharf port were handed over to the Navy.
Biggest Action
NCB said that this action was taken under Operation Samudragupt. This is the biggest ever meth seizure operation in the country. This is the third major campaign against smuggling in one and a half years.
