Latest Updated 17/05/2023: Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Tuesday said that over 36 lakh suspected SIM cards have been deactivated in the country.
On the question of checking cases of fraud through calls on WhatsApp, the minister said, the Meta-owned company has agreed to deactivate services linked to any mobile phone number involved in the fraud. He said, more than 40 thousand Point of Sales (POS) machines have also been blacklisted.
