ED raids continue in UP Scholarship Scam latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 06/05/2023: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids in the scholarship scam continued on Friday. While the ED is on the lookout for the third operator of the scam-accused Hygia Educational Group, a person who is 'liaising' for the group is also being searched. Meanwhile, the documents recovered in the raids on Thursday are also being investigated.
The ED has expedited the investigation into the scholarship scam in Lucknow's Hygia Educational Group and SS Institute of Management and Farrukhabad's OP Gupta College. On Thursday, the ED raided these three institutions and their operators again. Earlier on February 15, these three institutions were also raided. ED teams are interrogating two operatives of Haijia Group, Izhar Hussain Jafri and Ali Abbas Jafri on custody remand, while raids are on in search of another of its operators, Syed Ishrat Hussain Jafri.
In the raids, information has been found about the benami properties of the operators of this group, which have been bought with the amount of scholarship scam. Ravi Prakash Gupta, the third accused arrested in the scam, is also associated with this group. He is said to be a teacher of Hygia Institute. Meanwhile, Praveen Kumar Chauhan, Director of SS Institute and Shivam of OP Gupta College have also been questioned.

According to sources, ED may soon arrest other accused in this case as well. Information has been received about the person working as 'liaisoning' for the Hygia Group, that he is a resident of Meerut. He also has a hold in bureaucracy. He becomes active at the time of any crisis coming on the group.
