Latest Updated 06/05/2023: In the basic teacher recruitment dispute, the government has requested the Supreme Court to hear the matter soon. The Education Department has filed an application in the Supreme Court in this regard. Recruitment to about 800 posts is pending due to the controversy over the eligibility of NIOS D.El.Ed for basic teacher.


When contacted, Education Secretary Ravinath Raman confirmed this. It may be known that due to the dispute of NIOS DLED, the recruitment of basic teachers has been stalled since August 2022 last year. NIOS D.El.D. Trainees are demanding to include their Diploma in Basic Teacher Recruitment considering their Diploma as D.El.D. In favor of this, he cites the order of Bihar High Court and NCTE as the basis. Last year, the High Court has also given a decision in his favor.

On the other hand, B.Ed trained do not consider them eligible. In December 2022, the Supreme Court has stayed the High Court's order to include NIOS DLED in basic teacher recruitment. But the government is reluctant to start recruitment on the basis of this stay. It may be known that out of 2600, 1800 posts have been recruited. The Education Department believes that if the decision from the Supreme Court comes in favor of NIOS DLED, then new technical problems may arise.


The Education Secretary said that a special application has been filed in the Supreme Court in this regard. On the other hand, Arvind Rana, media in-charge of BEd TET trained federation, said that the decision to include NIOD DLED in the recruitment was stayed by the Supreme Court last year itself. On this basis, conditional recruitment can be continued. But the education department is deliberately avoiding it. Rana demanded action from the CM and the Education Minister in this matter.
