Latest Updated 06/05/2023: 25 thousand Anganwadi workers of the state are going to get new smart phones. Along with this, the state government is also going to give loans up to Rs 5 lakh to single women for self-employment at 50 per cent subsidy.
All the details of Anganwadi centers in the state are now uploaded on mobile phones, for this the Women and Child Development Department had provided smartphones to Anganwadi workers and mini workers in 2018 with the financial assistance of the Central Government. Their total number is more than 25 thousand. But since then the phones have become useless, so the Anganwadi workers are currently running the work with personal resources. In this sequence, the state government has again sent the demand for smartphones to the center. According to the sources, the Center has indicated to approve the budget soon, after which the state government will buy smartphones and make them available to Anganwadis. The state government has started the process to provide uniforms to the Anganwadi workers.
Loan will be available for self-employment The state government is also coming up with a scheme to connect single women with self-employment. In this, loans ranging from two to five lakh rupees will be given to single women for self-employment. On which the state government will give subsidy up to 50 percent. The department has prepared its cabinet proposal.
